This page links to the old design schemas used for my website. Occasionally I decide that the current site design isn't upto what we laughingly refer to as "scratch", and I decide to try to improve matters.

Here are viewable versions of the older site designs:

  • Deceased: 2001-11-22
This site was supremely ugly, but survived for a while simply because it "made use" of some "whizzy javascript". Once common sense caught up, this design was scrapped.
  • Deceased: 2001-12-24
This design was much better (cleaner, faster, etc) but was also terribly bland. I originally wrote it with a grey theme, but popular opinion was that white looked better. Bastards!
  • Deceased: 2003-02-01
Then this design appeared. It was clean, comfortable, and very functional. It died not because of lack of interest, but simply that it could be improved upon.
  • Deceased: 2004-04-07
Improvements were made on the previous site, and this was the result. Use of CSS where possible (I think there's only one table from memory) and better layout made this design very popular (with myself, anyway). It didn't really die, more undergo a colour scheme makeover (changing a few entries in the css style file) and the domain name change to www.rarr.net.
  • Deceased: 2004-05-01
The new colour scheme looked okay for a while, but then I decided it looked too ugly. Time to try something different!

A complete site overhaul, attempting to properly design and use best practices (such as I knew them).

There used to be a few *really* old designs floating around, but unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view) I can't find any copies of them.
