This was a site design that I really enjoyed. It had no real problems with it, except that while it had more useable real-estate than previous designs, it still wastes a lot.

The layout implimentation was heavily dependant on using tables, which was something that I came to decide was not very desirable. It wasn't that it caused problems, but I wanted to try to adhere to the design principles of the HTML spec. I also wanted to tinker with CSS a bit.

One of the main features of the site was the "boxes" that were used to contain lists of various types:

Box:
» Row
» Another row
» More rows

This provided a nice method of presenting data that had the same look and feel as the rest of the site. This method was used for the navigation stuff on the left, and for the contents.

The navigation bar became part of the reason I wanted to redesign this version. I wanted them on the right, and I wanted to remove all the dead space around them.

All in all, the site was functional, appealing, and very well loved, but the minor problems (like broken inline CSS and the like), and boredom, prompted the retirment of this site, but not forgotten. Most of the features and designs in this site are still present in the successive design.
