Trek 7.3FX Disc

Some years ago I retired my old, old bike for a shiny new mountain bike. Last week I upgraded that to a shiny new Trek 7.3 FX Disc hybrid (if the link doesn't work just click on the thumbnail above). Niaal from work just got one a week or two before for his birthday. He was very impressed with the improved performance over his cruddy old bike (which was like my old, old bike).

I agree. It's a very nice ride.

In addition to riding to and from work, we've been partaking in bringing in luncheon materials and sharing lunch between us. This is working out very economically - I haven't spent anything at work for the last two weeks! Which is good, because I can put that saving towards paying off the bike. It cost a pretty penny. Niaal got a really good deal on his bike through his dad, who knows a guy. It came all the way over from Sydney, and arrived at work in a cardboard box. I just bought mine from Anna at Bike Force down the road. Much less effort, but at a considerably higher cost. Oh well.

Good food + excermacise == healthy Chris. Even after just one week of riding into work I'm already feeling a lot better. Lets hope this trend continues.

heh you know what I did yesterday?

I caught the bus all the way home, saw my empty car port and was all like "dang. I drove into work this morning, didn't I?"

so I went back into town to pick it up

but I got to the bus stop and the bus was like 45 minutes away, so I decided "screw that, I'm walking"

got down the road and spied another bus stop down second ave for a different route, and the bus was only like 3 minutes away. caught that instead, so it all worked out.

its about a 45 minute walk if I walk all the way, so its all good

didn't work out so good for the other two girls that had the same idea. they didn't walk so fast, and just got to the corner as the bus was pulling away.

I guess they did some more walking
