I started at my new job today. It was good fun, although lingerring effects of a fairly bad cold made it less enjoyable than it could have otherwise been. Such is life. I fucking hate being sick

So the old stomping grounds haven't changed all that much since I was last there, in terms of atmosphere. Systems wise it's a lot different. I can see a number of things that could be done better (not just different), so I hope I get a chance to take a look at those sometime. First up though, I need to familiarise myself with the stuff that they're using. Ho hum. Another learning curve. It wouldn't be fun if there wasn't one :)

Found a new webcomic that I like. It has Questionable Content. Seems a bit like a Scary-Go-Round, mixed with Something Positive, with a hint of Stubble Comics. It hasn't been around long (6 months or so), but it's one that I think I'll just have to add to my list of comics to enjoy regularly :)

Woo! Michele recently went to Malaysia. While there, she went for some retail therapy, and picked me up a USB memory stick. It's shiny and nifty. I like.

So yesterday was my last day at iiNet. It was fairly anti-climactic, but I did enjoy my last week (or half week, really) there more than I've enjoyed any other week for a long time. There's a feeling of relief when you put something like that behind you, but some mild aprehension about what's coming next. I just hope I don't look like a complete noob.

But for now, I'm at a loose end. I've got a week before I start (start date: 27th of April), and I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to spend it. I might wade through the large pile of dvd's that I've still got to watch, or maybe through the large pile of books that I've still got to read. Or both. Or some cycling. Maybe. We'll see. Whatever it is, it'll have to be on the cheap side, because I don't get my next paycheck for another 5 weeks (I think - thanks to Curtin's pay schedule). Living is going to be tight, but I've done it tighter so I'll survive.

Anyway, I'm sure I'll keep myself amused.

"Huh? What's this? What the fuck have you done to this site?" you ask? Well, actually, I don't think anyone is asking that, because noone comes to read this site. I mean, there's nothing here to read anyway, is there? So stop your bitching.

Yes, a change is as good as a kick to the head, as they say. And change is what it's all about here. Becoming bored with the way things were, I have decided to change everything around! New colour scheme, new domainname (using the rarr.net domain now), new job, better content, etc...

New job, you say? Yes, I have handed in my resignation to the Borg, after 4 years of slavery. Instead, I shall be moving back to my old stomping grounds at Curtin Uni's Department of Computing. Hooray! I'm definately looking forward to the change.
